by nintendoiso on October 15, 2012

A month before the release of the Wii U, Nintendo has announced a price cut for the Wii in the U.S. along with a new bundle. The Wii is dropping from $149.99 to $129.99. The bundle is arriving in stores today and will be broadly available by October 28. It includes a black Wii console, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

There is no word on whether the price cut will hit other regions outside of the U.S.

This is the first price cut since May 15 of last year in which the console dropped to $149.99 from $199.99. The consoles launched in 2006 at a price of $249.99. The console’s successor, the Wii U, is launching November 18 in the US at a price of $300 and $350.
