Pokemon X/Y Brings Back Classic Pokemon

by nintendoiso on September 4, 2013

Got to catch em all! Following from the Nintendo Direct presentation, a whole lot of new details regarding Pokemon X and Y have been revealed by the lovely chaps at Nintendo.

Remember classic Pokemon Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle? Well in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, these are the Pokemon players will be choosing to start off with from Professor Sycamor. Also, once you have evolved these Pokemon into Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise…. you can then set a Mega Stone on them to Mega Evolve them into Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard, or Mega Blastoise giving them powers like never seen before!.

There is also a second requirement now in order to Mega Evolve Pokemon along with the Mega Stone.  Trainers must also obtain a bracelet called the Mega Ring that holds a mysterious stone called a Key Stone. The Trainer’s Key Stone resonates with the Mega Stone held their Pokemon allowing for the powerful Mega Evolve.

Pokemon Bank, a new Nintendo 3DS application was also revealed today by Mr. Junichi Masuda, Director from GAME FREAK inc. This allows you to store o 3,000 of your Pokémon on the Internet.  Pokémon Bank gives players the flexibility to store and deposit 100 Boxes worth of Pokémon. This is in addition to the Boxes found within Pokémon Xand Pokémon Y, just like in previous Pokémon titles. Players also transfer Pokemon from multiple copies of both games.  The application can be activated upon payment of an annual service fee.

This charge will support maintenance of the online server that allows players to store up to 3,000 Pokémon conveniently, and will provide the application’s support for future Pokémon titles. Those who use the app can also use its linked application, Poke Transporter. This useful app allows you transfer Pokemon from older titles, such as Pokemon Black,  Pokemon White, Pokemon Black 2, or Pokemon White 2 for use on Pokemon X or Pokemon Y. This application will only currently be available in North America.

North America will also be getting  two special Nintendo 3DS XL hardware designs featuring imagery from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. These systems come in Red or Blue and feature brand new Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal. Priced at $199.99 each, these will be released on September 27th.

A new gameplay video was also released featuring Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard, and Mega Blastoise. Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below.
