Overview
There is one game in the top 40 to be in its final week before launch, Ninokuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joou (PS3). As a reminder the Pro data is back up, which means that I am taking requests again for games outside the top 20.
Two games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week, and the top 11 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, up from 10 last week. Three games added 20,000 or more, up from one last week and four added 10,000 or more, the same as last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
There is one game in the top 40 to be in its final week before launch, Ninokuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joou (PS3). The game added 30,644 pre-orders for a grand total of 122,861. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 125,000 to 175,000 units range unit range. Expect the game to sell between 350,000 and 450,000 units lifetime in the US.
Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending January 26
DMC (PS3) sales are expected to drop to around 50,000 units in its second week. The Xbox 360 version is expected to drop to around 40,000 units.
Overall hardware sales are expected to decrease by around 10 percent.
Other Hot Games – In Order of Release
God of War: Ascension (PS3) added 9,655 pre-orders, up from 7,063 last week, for a total of 166,075. The game has fallen 119,000 pre-orders behind God of War III. The game is eight weeks away from launch in the USA, March 12, 2013.
Gears of War: Judgment (X360) added 3,970 pre-orders, up from 3,058 last week, for a total of 72,647. The game has fallen 883,000 pre-orders behind Gears of War III. The game is nine weeks away from launch in the USA, March 12, 2013.
Bioshock Infinite (X360) added 6,617 pre-orders, up from 5,988 last week, for a total of 264,611. Bioshock Infinite (PS3) added 3,842 pre-orders, up from 3,726 last week, for a total of 162,279. The game is 10 weeks away from launch in the USA, March 26, 2013.
Notable mentions: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (PC) added 9,536 pre-orders for a total of 170,792. Dead Space 3 (X360) 27,057. Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS) added 32,425 pre-orders for a total of 89,769.
Requests: Aliens: Colonial Marines (WiiU) added 501 pre-orders for a total 10,735. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate (3DS) entered the charts with 1,140 pre-orders.
