USA Preorders Chart, 29 December 2012 – Another Slow Week

Overview

There are no games in the top 40 to be in its final week before launch. As a reminder the Pro data is back up, which means that I am taking requests again for games outside the top 20.

Six games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, up from five last week, and the top 14 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, up from 13 last week. No games added 20,000 or more, the same as last week and four added 10,000 or more, down from eight last week.

Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending January 5

Overall software sales are expected to increase by around 40 percent.

Overall hardware sales are expected to increase by around 45 percent.

Other Hot Games – In Order of Release

God of War: Ascension (PS3) added 9,274 pre-orders, down from 12,767 last week, for a total of 217,953. The game is 36,000 pre-orders behind God of War III. The game is 11 weeks away from launch in the USA, March 12, 2013.

Gears of War: Judgment (X360) added 3,561 pre-orders, down from 5,558 last week, for a total of 70,901. The game is 768,000 pre-orders behind Gears of War III. The game is 12 weeks away from launch in the USA, March 12, 2013.

Bioshock Infinite (X360) added 9,643 pre-orders, down from 13,759 last week, for a total of 314,276. Bioshock Infinite (PS3) added 5,389 pre-orders, down from 8,499 last week, for a total of 194,034. The game is 14 weeks away from launch in the USA, March 26, 2013.

Notable mentions: Grand Theft Auto V (X360) added 15,993 pre-orders for a total of 274,997. Grand Theft Auto V (PS3) added 14,938 pre-orders for a total of 241,980. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (PC) added 13m298 pre-orders for a total of 240,779.

Requests: DMC (PS3) added 8,639 pre-orders for a total of 83,666. DMC (X360) added 5,988 pre-orders for a total of 67,786. Aliens: Colonial Marines (WiiU) added 670 pre-orders for a total of 17,643.
